MAYO ARDEZ is dedicated to the artist Mayo Bucher (*1963), who lives and works between Zurich and Ardez. His multidisciplinary practice combines photography, painting, and collage, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the traces humans leave within landscapes and architecture. Poetic, playful, and at times melancholic, his works invite viewers on an imaginative journey between reality and fiction.
For this exhibition, Sabine Schaschl, Director of Haus Konstruktiv Zurich, has selected works spanning the past three decades, with a particular focus on Bucher’s recent practice. Created through a collage-like process, his works merge photographic and painterly elements into layered compositions that reveal unexpected connections and new perspectives.
